I was on a trip to New York City in August of 2003. It was a super hot day and so I stayed in my cousin's condo on the PC instead of being a normal person and going outside :P. I was addicted to RtCW as were countless others, but the recent disbandment of some of my most dedicated teams (namley <:Ufok Killers:>) had made me hesitant to jump into the free agent pool again. I had always been a part of teams and really enjoyed the dynamic part of it, but hadn't ever stepped into the driver seat - and I wanted to try that out. I didn't have a ton of time, so I decided the best way to go forth was to make a team in the 5v5 ladder, quite popular at the time @ TeamWarfare, and see where that led.

The ladder team was founded upon the premise of joining a group of players who want to have fun but don't necessarily want to commit to practice or weekly matches. We, at some points, had rosters over 20 people strong with each match being played normally being 3-4 different people from the last. These were a blast as I was able to meet and play with so many RtCW players I had wished to but had no way to really play with. I remember playing a match with Warzone, fatninja, Xpire and DarKon on Assault against {BEER} - quite possibly one of the best matches I've played :).

Over the years Team Necrotic morphed into different ladders, games and so on. We always stuck to our roots in RtCW and eventually moved into league play. At this time, I had gotten a core group of guys in that of DarKon, n0sferatu, Cicatriz, Cullen, wraTh, NationTang and ZephyR. I had played with DarKon in Closing Time (2am) and always enjoyed his panzering skills, n0sferatu had joined the ladder team and was always on pubbing, Cicatriz came from Rabia and had played in the ladder team on and off for awhile, Cullen had (probably has) a man-crush on me and we had played in Divinity with enzo and Natas, wraTh & NationTang both had pubbed on }-{ell's Gate often and I got to know and enjoy them quite a bit and ZephyR, the big noob that he is, had played with me in More Money and Morbid X way back in the day - he's my token "sign up to this team and reinstall this game" guy and I love him for that. We played some leagues but eventually found our focus set on Battle Of the Beach 3. We joined up and practiced hard. We faced High Voltage in the first round, and while I would like to say it was a close game we ended up losing the match. I would later play against High Voltage in Forgotten Kings and get sweet sweet revenge :P. It was a great experience and one of the best tournaments I've been around for. slaG's team went on to win it in the end.

After that we moved to ET and played the first season, then had brief stints in CoD, CS:S, UT2k4 and Halo 2. We eventually found our way back to RtCW and have played it in some capacity ever since. The team took a hiatus in some respects between 2007 and 2009 but was still somewhat active just in a non-competitive sense. And now, for the present, we just competed in the Mayan Apocalypse 2012 RtCW tournament hosted by TeamWarfare, where we lost to XIL who went on to win the whole tournament. After that we got one sweet match in TWL OSP Season 14 against Teh BirdZ before the league was canceled due to admin abandonment. I think the league, even if it had 10 teams, had promise and a lot of old players were returning. Oh well... Now we are currently starting up Urban Terror with some of the Team Vote guys from RtCW. We'll be competing in CTF Season 2 and getting our asses handed to us most likely. In addition, we're on a Scavenge ladder for L4D2 on TeamWarfare but I have no clue when the admins will wake up and unlock it. Until then, we'll have to just pub it up as we always do :).

Team Necrotic was formed by me, but I definitely feel that others should be noted as co-founders for their efforts on getting the team to where it or keeping it alive. ZephyR, one of my old clanmates back in the day, has always been around to help out as an extra gun. and lucky he isn't half bad :). N0sferatu has been a co-pilot in a lot of senses and brings some great ideas to the table when we need them, he's a team player and definitely a beacon of what we stand for. Cullen, wherever the hell he is, begrudgingly showed up but I know under his annoyed exterior he loved the team and wanted it to succeed. DarKon, one of the best panzers I've played with (}-{$cr1lla is probably the best) had a great attitude and brought some great experience to the table. Cicatriz, one of the most consistent guys I've played with and definitely a stand up dude. And finally Nayeen for being the pimp that he is, and for consistently panzing people in the face to show whose the mother fucking boss.

I'm hoping for a bright future as we explore new games and try to find our nitch to fill the void that RtCW has left behind.
